Pakistan’s government has officially rejected reports claiming that Pakistani nationals are being specifically targeted for deportation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), calling the allegations “fake news” and “malicious propaganda.”
According to the Ministry of Interior, there is no evidence suggesting country-specific or sect-based deportations of Pakistanis from the UAE. Officials stated that any deportations taking place are part of normal immigration enforcement related to visa violations, illegal stays, or incomplete documentation.
The issue sparked debate in Pakistan’s Senate after opposition lawmakers raised concerns about reports claiming thousands of Pakistanis had been deported from the Gulf country. Some lawmakers warned that large-scale expulsions could negatively impact Pakistan’s economy and overseas remittances.

Responding to the concerns, the government emphasized that Pakistan and the UAE continue to share strong diplomatic relations and noted that more than two million Pakistanis currently live and work in the UAE, making them one of the country’s largest expatriate communities.
Officials also clarified that Pakistani citizens who meet visa and employment requirements are still regularly receiving UAE work visas and traveling without discrimination.
The UAE remains one of Pakistan’s most important economic partners, especially due to overseas employment opportunities and billions of dollars in annual remittances sent back home by Pakistani workers.
