National Defence Day in Pakistan is a significant occasion that honors the nation’s military achievements and the defense efforts during the 1965 war against India. This day is traditionally marked by paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the Pakistani armed forces.

There has been some uncertainty this year regarding whether September 6 would be recognized as a public holiday. The Federal Cabinet Division did not initially list it as a public holiday in its notification, leading to speculation. Although there are rumors that the government has issued a notification declaring September 6 as a holiday, there has been no official confirmation yet.

Earlier in the year, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif officially declared May 28 as a holiday to observe Youm-e-Takbeer. Additionally, Pakistan will observe a public holiday for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) on the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, with the exact date to be confirmed following the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s moon sighting for Rabi-ul-Awwal.
