Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization Responds to Strikes on Nuclear Facilities

Following recent military aggression, Iran has strongly condemned what it calls a “brutal” and illegal attack by the United States and its allies on the country’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization stated that these strikes violate international law, particularly the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), to which Iran remains a committed signatory.

The official statement also criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for what it described as “indifference and cooperation” in the face of these attacks, despite the targeted facilities being under constant IAEA monitoring per the Safeguards Agreement.

“The American enemy, through its president, has accepted responsibility for these strikes,” the statement read. “This act of aggression undermines international norms and was carried out against facilities transparently operating within global nuclear frameworks.”

Iran urged the international community to condemn what it described as “lawlessness” and to stand in support of its sovereign right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy.

Despite the attack, the Atomic Energy Organization reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the country’s nuclear development, pledging that the “evil conspiracies” of adversaries will not halt progress. It also vowed to pursue legal channels to defend Iran’s national rights and interests.
