Cartoon Network, a beloved TV channel for Generation X and Millennials, caused widespread distress recently amid rumors of its closure. Online, hashtags like “#RIPCartoonNetwork” trended as nostalgic fans shared cherished memories of their favorite childhood animated shows, fearing the end of an iconic era.

The uproar began with a social media post that circulated a video proclaiming, “Cartoon Network is essentially dead,” and suggesting other animation studios could face similar fates.
