In a major legal development, an Islamabad court overturned the previous convictions of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.

Previous Sentences Overturned

The couple had been sentenced to seven years in prison earlier this year by Civil Judge Qudratullah for violating Islamic law regarding marriage during the iddat period. This verdict sparked significant public debate.

Judge Afzal Majoka today delivered the verdict on their appeal, acquitting both Khan and Bibi. The court declared the sentences null and void and ordered their immediate release. Official release orders have been issued to facilitate their prompt freedom.
