A powerful spell of heavy rainfall and a severe hailstorm battered Islamabad on Wednesday, leaving a trail of disruption and property damage across the city. Locals described the hailstorm as one of the strongest in recent memory, with large hailstones shattering car windows and damaging rooftops.

Several low-lying sectors, including G-10, F-8, and I-9, reported severe waterlogging as the city’s drainage system struggled to cope with the relentless downpour. The combination of rain and hail brought traffic to a near standstill on major roads, while residential areas faced water accumulation.
