To ensure smooth traffic flow amid the expected surge of tourists during snowfall, the City Traffic Police in Murree has introduced a series of comprehensive measures. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Murree, Mughees Ahmad Hashmi, announced that around 200 traffic wardens have been deployed to manage the anticipated increase in vehicles. These measures are aimed at preventing congestion and ensuring safe and efficient movement of traffic as visitors flock to Murree and its surrounding areas.
Hashmi emphasized that the directives issued by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Inspector General of Police, and the Additional Inspector General of Traffic Police would be strictly followed. As part of the arrangements, certain key roads, including View Fourth Road, Bank Road, Hall Road, Kuldana Road, and Imtiaz Shaheed Road, will operate under a one-way traffic system during the snowfall to ease traffic pressure.

Additionally, parking-free zones have been established in high-traffic areas such as the vicinity of Habib Bank, General Post Office (GPO) Chowk, Cecil Hotel, and Kuldana Road, as well as Bank Road leading to Girls Degree College, in order to reduce congestion. To minimize disruptions, heavy vehicles like food supply trucks and water tankers will be allowed access only during specific hours, from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. These measures are intended to improve safety and the overall visitor experience during the peak winter season.
