New Zealand is introducing a new four‑year “golden visa” for global entrepreneurs and investors, aiming to boost foreign investment and residency. The visa, officially called the Business Investor Work Visa, offers two routes: investors can either invest NZ$1 million over three years or NZ$2 million for a one‑year expedited track.
Applicants must demonstrate business experience—such as owning a company with at least NZ$1 million in annual revenue or employing five full-time workers—and show NZ$500,000 in personal funds. Their families may also join under the same application.

This new visa complements the existing Active Investor Plus visa, which requires significantly larger investments of NZ$5–10 million. The revised program aligns with New Zealand’s broader plan to attract high-net-worth individuals by simplifying its policy and reducing barriers.
