On Tuesday, excise authorities in Haripur launched a major crackdown on property tax defaulters, sealing more than 30 commercial establishments across the city. The operation was carried out under the directives of Secretary of the Excise Department, Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah, who emphasized the need for complete recovery of outstanding property taxes.

Excise and Taxation Officer Pervez Akhtar led the enforcement drive, which targeted a wide range of defaulters, including a car wash, a petrol station, a regional office of a private company, and 30 shops. The cumulative amount owed by these businesses amounted to Rs8.7 million in unpaid property taxes.

Akhtar later confirmed that all sealed premises were reopened once the dues were cleared by the owners.
