A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Mirage 5 ROSE III fighter jet crashed on Tuesday during a routine training sortie in Sargodha. The aircraft belonged to the No. 27 “Zarrars” Squadron of the 32nd Tactical Attack Wing.
According to initial reports, the jet went down shortly after takeoff. Fortunately, the pilot ejected in time and escaped unharmed. The exact cause of the crash has not yet been disclosed by the authorities.

The Mirage 5 ROSE III (Retrofit of Strike Element) is part of the PAF’s upgraded Mirage fleet, modernized with advanced avionics and enhanced strike capabilities to extend operational life.
Although based on an older French design, these upgraded Mirage jets continue to play a crucial role in Pakistan Air Force’s strike and reconnaissance missions.
