Pakistan Offers Support to Tech Firms Sanctioned by US

Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar informed the National Assembly that the government is ready to support 19 Pakistani tech companies recently sanctioned by the US. These firms were added to the US Commerce Department’s Entity List on March 25, 2025, over alleged links to Pakistan’s strategic program—claims the minister strongly denied.

The sanctions restrict access to US-origin technologies, disrupting operations and impacting Pakistan’s broader tech industry and economy. Dar called the sanctions politically biased and harmful to international trade fairness. He emphasized that Pakistan’s strategic program complies with all legal standards.

The government will assist affected companies with legal appeals and help them find alternative trade routes and technology sources. Pakistan has also raised the issue at the United Nations, calling for a fair, non-discriminatory global export control system and better tech access for developing nations.
