Pakistan Railways has introduced a strict new policy restricting vloggers, bloggers, journalists, and social media influencers from recording or publishing content related to railway operations without prior authorization.
According to the official directive, no individual or content creator will be allowed to film railway infrastructure, stations, trains, or operational activities unless they obtain written permission from the Railway Headquarters in Lahore.
The decision applies broadly to all media personnel, including independent vloggers and social media influencers who frequently create content for platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. Railway employees assisting unauthorized filming will also be held accountable under the same rules.
Authorities stated that the move is aimed at improving security, protecting sensitive infrastructure, and preventing the misuse or unauthorized exposure of operational details. Officials emphasized that Pakistan Railways is a critical national transport system, and any unregulated filming could pose security risks.

Under the new guidelines, individuals found violating the ban may face legal and disciplinary action under applicable laws. The department has also urged media professionals and content creators to follow proper procedures and seek permission before engaging in any filming activity on railway premises.
Pakistan Railways has further advised that applications for filming permission must be submitted to the headquarters, where they will be reviewed before approval.
The policy marks a significant tightening of control over digital content creation in public transport spaces, reflecting growing concerns about security and regulation of online media content in Pakistan.
