Petrol and Diesel Prices Hiked Significantly for Final Fortnight of FY 2024-25

The federal government has implemented a sharp increase in the prices of petroleum products for the last fortnight of the fiscal year 2024-25.

According to the latest revision, petrol has gone up by Rs. 4.80 per liter, bringing the new price to Rs. 258.43. High-speed diesel (HSD) has seen a steeper hike of Rs. 7.95 per liter, with the new price set at Rs. 262.59. These changes will take effect from June 16, 2025.

In the previous fortnightly review, petrol saw a minor increase of Rs. 1 per liter, while the price of high-speed diesel remained unchanged.

Moreover, Rs. 17 per liter is allocated as distribution and sales margins for oil marketing companies and dealers.
