The government has kept the petrol price unchanged while slightly increasing the high-speed diesel (HSD) rate for the second half of September, according to a notification issued by the Finance Division.

As per the latest update:

  • Petrol will continue to be sold at Rs. 264.61 per litre
  • High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs. 2.78, bringing the new rate to Rs. 272.77 per litre

This revision follows the previous fuel price review where:

  • HSD was reduced by Rs. 3, bringing it to Rs. 269.99 per litre
  • Petrol remained unchanged at Rs. 264.61 per litre
  • Superior Kerosene Oil was reduced by Rs. 1.46, to Rs. 176.81 per litre
  • Light Diesel Oil saw a cut of Rs. 2.40, setting the price at Rs. 159.76 per litre

These adjustments are part of the government’s regular fuel price reviews, influenced by global oil market trends, currency exchange rates, and local tax policies.
