PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced a major incentive boost for Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises starting from PSL 2026, linking financial rewards not only to on-field success but also to contributions toward cricket development.
Under the revamped structure, champions will receive $500,000, runners-up $300,000, and a new category, “Best Franchise contributing towards Cricket Development,” will be awarded $200,000.
This new development-focused prize encourages franchises to invest in youth academies, age-group programs, regional scouting, coach education, and facilities in underserved areas. The initiative transforms cricket development from an optional responsibility into a key component of a franchise’s competitive strategy.

While traditional prize money maintains competition on the field, the development award aims to enhance the broader cricket ecosystem. With clear criteria, transparent evaluation, and proper oversight, this initiative could motivate franchises to invest smarter and deeper in Pakistan’s cricket structure.
“Let’s take Pakistan cricket to new heights,” said Naqvi, highlighting the PSL’s commitment to both performance and long-term development incentives.
