The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that mobile phone users across Pakistan can now make calls to toll‑free (0800) numbers free of charge. Previously, only fixed-line users could access these numbers without cost, while mobile subscribers were charged standard rates.

Under the new policy, all mobile-originated calls to toll-free service numbers are completely free, allowing consumers to reach government departments, banks, utilities, and other essential services without worrying about call costs. The move is aimed at enhancing convenience and ensuring equal access to critical helplines and customer support services.
