The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a strong warning to the public, stating that all unregistered mobile devices will soon be blocked from connecting to local networks. To ensure uninterrupted mobile service, citizens have been urged to register their devices through the Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS).

According to PTA, unregistered phones present serious risks to national security and may be exploited for financial scams and cybercrime. The authority emphasized that owning, selling, or using such devices is strictly prohibited under current regulations and is considered a punishable offense.

PTA advised the public to avoid purchasing or selling unregistered phones, as they are not recognized by the official system and cannot legally operate in the country. Users were also warned that continuing to use such handsets could lead to service suspension and potential legal consequences.

To prevent disruptions, PTA has urged citizens to promptly check their device status on the DIRBS portal and complete registration where necessary before the given deadline.
