The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced on Friday its decision to hold a large-scale protest at D-Chowk, Islamabad, on October 15. This announcement followed an emergency meeting of PTI’s political committee, which was notably not attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur.
After the meeting, PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram issued a statement urging all party organizational leaders and members, from the central committee down to regional branches, to start preparations for the upcoming protest. The party aims to gather in significant numbers at D-Chowk to voice their concerns.

As a result of the planned protest in Islamabad, PTI has also cancelled district-level protests in Punjab, with new dates to be announced soon. The party leadership expressed their frustration with the current government, accusing it of disrespecting the Constitution and the rule of law, and continuing its oppressive actions.
The political committee also highlighted concerns for PTI Chairman Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail. The committee claimed that Imran Khan is being subjected to cruel treatment, with his life and health at risk due to the denial of his basic human rights.
