Rs. 343 Million Allocated for PM Office Renovation in New Budget

Despite ongoing economic difficulties and increasing public pressure for financial restraint, the federal government has proposed allocating over Rs. 343 million for the renovation and expansion of the Prime Minister’s Office and other senior government residences in the upcoming fiscal budget.

According to budget documents, Rs. 65 million has been earmarked specifically for the renovation of the Prime Minister’s Office during the next fiscal year. The project, which is already underway, is projected to cost Rs. 180 million by June 2025. In total, the approved funding for this initiative stands at Rs. 343.1 million, suggesting a significant overhaul of the Prime Minister’s administrative premises.

The Prime Minister’s Staff Colony is also set to undergo enhancements, with Rs. 55 million proposed for improving residential facilities for support staff. Additionally, Rs. 110 million has been allocated for refurbishing a government-owned building in Islamabad, although specifics of the building have not been disclosed.

Moreover, Rs. 132.7 million has been proposed for the expansion of the Minister’s Enclave, which includes the construction of 12 new apartments intended for federal ministers and senior officials.

These proposed expenditures arrive at a time when the government is under growing scrutiny to implement strict fiscal measures and prioritize economic stabilization.
