Cricket Scotland has confirmed it will not host the Pakistan women’s cricket team for a planned series this summer, citing financial constraints as the key reason. The series was intended as part of Pakistan’s preparations for the upcoming Women’s ODI World Cup.

Steve Snell, Head of Performance at Cricket Scotland, stated that the organization’s failure to qualify for the World Cup has significantly impacted its funding and planning capabilities. “Pakistan are really keen to come across this summer, but the net result of us not qualifying is that we cannot afford to host them. So there won’t be a series against Pakistan in July—we cannot afford them, which sounds absolutely bonkers,” Snell remarked.
