A fresh report by the Wall Street Journal has claimed that the United Arab Emirates quietly participated in military operations against Iran during the recent regional conflict involving the United States and Israel. According to the report, the UAE allegedly carried out covert strikes on Iranian territory, marking a major shift from its traditionally defensive regional stance.
The report stated that one of the alleged attacks targeted an Iranian refinery on Lavan Island, causing a massive fire and severe operational damage that could take months to recover from. Although Abu Dhabi has not officially confirmed the claims, the alleged operation has intensified tensions across the Middle East.

The development comes amid ongoing hostilities between Iran and the US-Israel alliance, which reportedly triggered missile and drone attacks across Gulf nations, including the UAE. Analysts believe the increasing threats to Gulf infrastructure and economic interests may have pushed the UAE toward a more aggressive military posture.
Reports further suggest that Washington quietly welcomed greater Gulf participation in the campaign against Iran, while regional powers continue to debate how far involvement in the conflict should go. The situation remains highly volatile, with fears that additional escalation could further destabilize the region.
