Vivo Y35m launches with dual camera and 5,000mAh battery

There is just a minor update to the standard Vivo Y35 that has just launched in China: the Vivo Y35m. The specs of the latter are completely downgraded in order to make it more affordable, as well as reducing its price. Due to that, at least in China, it starts at just $202, which is a decent price.

Design and Display

There are no major changes in the design, except for a tiny bit of a shrinkage in the size of the IPS LCD, which is now 6.51 inches (down from 6.58 inches) in comparison to before. It has also been downgraded to 720p resolution and 60Hz refresh rate, respectively, which are also downgrades. There is still a waterdrop notch selfie camera on the device.

Internals and Software

The original variant of the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 680 SoC, but the Y35m is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 chip, which actually delivers slightly better performance than the Snapdragon 680 SoC. This device comes with a selection of 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM options, but only a single model with a 128GB storage option is available. As well as that, it includes a slot for a memory card.

There will be Chinese models that run Origin OS Ocean, but their global counterparts will be running Funtouch OS on top of Android 13.

Cameras

In addition to the main camera which has a 50MP sensor, there is a 2MP depth sensor which sits alongside the 13MP camera. The device still has the ability to record videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second, which is a great news, but it is limited to 30 FPS.

In addition, the 16MP selfie camera from the original model has also been reduced in size from 16MP to 5MP.

Battery and Pricing

It’s still going to be a 5,000mAh battery, but it’s no longer going to be fast charging at 44W, as it was before. As a result, you will only be able to charge your device at a speed of 15 watts.

For a starting price of $202 in China, the phone will be available in the color options Star Orange and Starry Night Black.
