Chairman P@SHA, Muhammad Zohaib Khan, was awarded the first-ever IT Icon Award by Ecommerce Gateway for his invaluable services rendered to the local industry. The State Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima, handed him the award in the inaugural session of 25th ITCN Asia.

Mr. Zohaib Khan has been serving the IT association as chairman, vice chairman, and a member of the Central Executive Committee in various capacities for the last 15 years. During his term as chairperson, the country achieved the highest ever export earnings of over $ 3.2 billion in FY24 and for the first time, Pakistan hosted the APICTA Awards in 2023 for regional economies. He led the IT industry to attain different milestones like IT export awards, tax incentives at the federal and provincial level, 50 percent retention of foreign exchange facilities in bank accounts, and formation of Tech Destination Pakistan in collaboration with the policymakers and a private bank. He overhauled the secretariat of P@SHA and its R&D units.

Zohaib also led the expansion of various Pakistani IT companies in other countries, especially in the GCC and European states.
Currently, he is actively involved in SIFC with the objective of taking IT exports to $10 billion, an all-time high, in the next couple of years.

State Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima said that for the economic prosperity of a country, stakeholders also play an extremely important role. At P@SHA, under the chairmanship, the leadership has done an outstanding job, achieving historic milestones for Pakistan. The government looks forward to more collaboration and involvement from the leadership of P@SHA in time to come, she added.
