Mobicash Partners with NADRA to Expand Branchless Banking Footprint
Mobicash has finalized components of its partnership with NADRA Technologies Limited (NTL) to launch branchless banking services on NADRA e-Sahulat platform after a contract was signed between the two bodies. This partnership enables Mobicash to expand its branchless banking footprint by providing customers facility to initiate and collect money transfers through more than 12,000 e-Sahulat kiosks across Pakistan.
The signing ceremony was attended by Saleem Rafik, Director-General Operations – NTL, Ghazanfar Azzam, CEO – Waseela Microfinance Bank Limited and Aniqa Afzal Sandhu, Head of Mobile Financial Services – Mobilink.
Speaking at the occasion about the benefits of this collaboration, Aniqa Afzal Sandhu stated, “This partnership furthers our goals to provide branchless banking services to the unbanked customers in Pakistan. While also facilitating our customers through added convenience and ease of access provided by the additional retail network of NADRA. Going forward NADRA services would also be available at our Mobicash agents.”
Under the partnership, transactions can be sent and collected interchangeably from both Mobicash and NADRA agents. In the future, customers will also be able to utilize the service for loan repayments, Mobile Accounts, and other Mobicash products.
“NADRA e-Sahulat was the first platform to offer electronic payment of utility bills through the franchised model. Today it offers domestic remittance and other branchless banking services in collaboration with Mobicash & Waseela Bank,” said Saleem Rafik.
Talking about benefits to the masses, he further added, “Our solution is not only seamless and swift but also has been further secured as CNICs of senders and receivers is verified by NADRA for each transaction. This unique feature will not only facilitate consumers with added advantage to avoid errors but will also facilitate banking industry for financial inclusions.
According to Ghazanfar Azzam, “This venture would have a transnational impact on the branchless banking landscape. Customers visiting retailers for NADRA services can now send money using Mobicash services.”
