Counterpoint research has ended up releasing a new report as far as the Vietnamese smartphone market happens to be concerned. Indeed the research firm goes on to claim that the market ended up growing 104% QoQ and 15% YoY in the last quarter of last year. Samsung indeed ended up regaining the very top position in the market. On the other hand though, Xiaomi was pushed to the fifth position, thanks to the strong sales of the iPhone 13.

Thanks to the Covd-19 pandemic, as well as the macroeconomic worries along with the supply chain issues there to be seen, the smartphone market that happens to exist in Vietnam saw a large number of difficulties throughout that of 2021. However, as far as Q4 of last year is concerned, it did saw growth too.

Indeed both Samsung as well as Apple saw their highest ever shipments in the country last year. The South Korean giant ended up leading the market, while this was then followed by Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo, Apple and Realme.

But as far as the fourth quarter was concerned, Xiaomi came through in at forth. It was not only beaten by both Oppo and Vivo, but also was beaten by Apple. The rather enhanced distribution strategies which were there to be seen from Apple ended up boosting the sales of iPhones in Q4.

All in all, the only brand that saw a decline was Oppo, though it ended up holding the second position overall by growing 88% QoQ in Q4. Being an offline-centric brand, the company’s growth saw a decrement by 6% YoY due to the lock downs that were there to be seen in Q2 as well as Q3 – along with of course the shortage of 4G SoCs. In summary then, there’s little doubting the fact that Apple is indeed doing rather well in the market – all across the globe that is!
