It has been announced by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) that the airline will fine employees Rs. 100,000 if they are found guilty of breaking the smoking prohibition during flights.
As a matter of record, the PIA administration has taken note of an employee who has been found to be smoking onboard the aircraft. As a result of a recent agreement, there will be a punishment of Rs. 100,000 per employee caught smoking on board a flight.
In a circular issued by the national flag carrier’s management, it was mentioned that one of the airline’s aircraft had just been subjected to a Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) inspection, during which the cockpit crew was discovered to be in violation of the ‘NO SMOKING ON BOARD’ policy.

In order to ensure a smoke-free environment on board, the airline stated that smoking was strictly prohibited.
Crew members who are found to be in violation of the rules will be fined up to Rs. 100,000/- for each violation. The other staff members were expected to report such offenses to the supervisor in accordance with past circulars.
Employees of the airline were instructed to strictly follow the airline’s instructions, according to the airline.
