In connection with the Pakistan Super League (PSL), PCB Chairman Najam Sethi has contacted caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

Ahead of the Pakistan Super League, Sethi requested that Naqvi delay the oath-taking ceremony of Wahab Riaz as caretaker sports minister.

Wahab Riaz’s participation in the PSL for Peshawar Zalmi was emphasized by the PCB Chairman based on his experience as a left-arm pacer.

According to Sethi, who became PCB Chairman in December, the move would not only benefit the team but also showcase the cricketer’s talent.

After a positive response from the Chief Minister, the oath-taking ceremony was postponed until after the PSL concluded.

Wahab Riaz’s participation in PSL may be in doubt because he is expected to be overburdened with the responsibilities of his new role.

In anticipation of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), cricket fans and the cricketing fraternity, alike, welcomed the news.

A mainstay and a vital part of Peshawar Zalmi’s success over the past few seasons, the Lahore-born cricketer captained his team in the 2018 edition.

He has 103 wickets in 77 matches at an average of 21.29 and the best bowling figures of 4 for 17. Wahab Riaz is the PSL’s leading wicket-taker with 103 wickets in 77 matches at an average of 21.29.
