The Punjab Education Department has recently announced revised timings for public and private schools across Lahore to accommodate the winter season. These changes are aimed at ensuring that students’ safety and well-being are prioritized during the colder months. In this article, we will discuss the new school timings, which will be in effect from October 16, 2023, until April 14, 2024.

Boys’ School Timings

Boys’ schools in Lahore will have adjusted schedules during the winter season. From Monday to Thursday and Saturday, these schools will operate from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. However, Fridays will be slightly different, with schools remaining open without any break from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm.

Girls’ School Timings

On the other hand, girls’ schools in the provincial capital will commence their classes from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm on Monday to Thursday and Saturday. Every Friday, these schools will close at 12:00 pm, allowing students to start their weekends a bit earlier.

Double Shift Schools

In some cases, schools operate on a double shift schedule. The first shift will begin at 7:45 am and conclude at 12:15 pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday. The second shift will continue until 5:00 pm without any break, starting at 12:30 pm on the same days.

However, Fridays will see a unique schedule for double shift schools, with the first shift starting from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

It’s important to note that these revised timings have come into effect from October 16, 2023, and will remain the same until April 14, 2024. This ensures that students and schools can adequately prepare for the winter season while maintaining educational standards.

Conclusion

The Punjab Education Department’s decision to revise school timings for the winter season in Lahore reflects a commitment to students’ safety and convenience. These adjusted schedules take into account the unique needs of boys’ and girls’ schools, as well as the operation of double shift schools. Students, parents, and educators should be aware of these changes to ensure a smooth transition into the winter season.
