Customs authorities at Islamabad International Airport recently confiscated dozens of bottles of liquor from foreign nationals arriving on flight no CZ6007 from Urumqi, China. According to the media sources. the incident occurred a few days ago when Customs officials initially faced resistance from passengers in inspecting their belongings. However, upon further examination, officials discovered four dozen bottles of liquor in the possession of these foreign nationals.

It was noted that despite the violation of Pakistan’s prohibition on liquor, Customs authorities did not file a First Information Report (FIR) against the detained foreigners. Sources suggest that in such cases, confiscated liquor of high quality is either sold or gifted to individuals with favorable connections.
