All schools in the province of Punjab are slated to return to their regular operating hours on February 1, 2024, according to an announcement by the provincial education department. The conclusion of winter timings, effective until January 31, signals a resumption of the standard schedules.
Earlier this month, the education department had extended the winter timings for both public and private schools across the province, with the extension in effect until January 31, 2024. The revised schedule during this period required schools to operate on weekdays from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, and on Fridays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Notably, last year, the provincial education department had issued revised timings specifically for public and private schools in Lahore during the winter season. According to the official notification, boys’ schools were to remain open from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, with a continuous session on Friday from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm. Girls’ schools in the provincial capital were scheduled to run from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm on Monday to Thursday and Saturday, concluding at 12:00 pm every Friday.
