The interim government has mandated the arrest of civil servants who refuse to fulfill their duties for the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8.

Authorities have reportedly issued over 300 arrest warrants for officials who have been absent from election duty in PS-74 of the Sujawal-II constituency in Sindh.

Returning Officers (ROs) have instructed police officials to apprehend and bring in employees who are not fulfilling their duties.

Arrest warrants have been issued for medical officers, teachers, and other government employees who are showing reluctance to participate.

An official stated to the media that the majority of civil servants are attending their duties, with action being taken against those who are absent.

The deadline for election campaigns by all political parties will conclude tonight, with voting scheduled for February 8 nationwide.

In accordance with election regulations, campaigning will cease precisely at midnight between February 6 and 7.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) warns that candidates engaging in political activities after the deadline will face legal consequences.
