Police are intensifying their crackdown on supporters of various political parties, including the PTI and TLP, who are protesting alleged electoral fraud following the February 8 general elections.

Shahzad, who lodged a complaint with the Lahore High Court regarding the victory of Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Sharif, alleging tampering with Form 47, was apprehended in Lahore, the provincial capital.

Farooq was also arrested and placed in a police van, as confirmed by a social media post from the PTI. Imran Khan’s party asserted that Shahzad was detained while peacefully exercising his right to protest against what they claim is blatant election rigging.

A circulating video clip depicts a defiant politician inside a police van. An independent candidate supported by the PTI emerged victorious, defeating Maryam Nawaz Sharif, daughter of the convicted former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
