PPP and PML-N Endorse Shehbaz for Prime Minister, Zardari for President.

On Tuesday evening, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), declared that Shehbaz Sharif has been chosen as the upcoming Prime Minister of Pakistan, with Asif Ali Zardari set to take on the role of President. This announcement was made during a late-night press conference, where Bilawal revealed that the PPP, along with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), have secured the necessary support to establish the forthcoming government.

This decision comes after prolonged discussions between the PPP and the PML-N, as neither party was able to secure a simple majority in the elections held on February 8. “We have now obtained the requisite numbers to form the government,” Bilawal stated in a joint press conference at Zardari House in Islamabad, highlighting the successful coalition formation.

Bilawal pointed out that candidates supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) did not manage to win a majority, failing to establish a government at the central level.

Shehbaz Sharif, the President of PML-N, mentioned during the conference that they had challenged the PTI-supported winners to demonstrate their majority and form a government, which they were unable to do due to insufficient support.

Zardari, addressing the attendees, emphasized that the formation of this new coalition government aims to propel Pakistan forward and called for prayers for the country’s future success.
