In Muzaffargarh, a landlord has been detained after brutally severing the legs of a donkey that wandered into his field to drink water during the extreme heat.

The incident took place in Jatoi Tehsil, where the landlord used a machete to inflict the severe injuries. The local police have filed a case at Jatoi Police Station, and the suspect is currently in custody. Meanwhile, the injured donkey has received medical treatment from the Livestock Department.

This case highlights the growing problem of animal cruelty in Pakistan, which is often fueled by insufficient awareness and education about animal rights, weak enforcement of existing laws, and cultural practices that harm animals.
