The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has instructed certain categories of sales tax registered individuals to undergo biometric re-verification at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) by August 31, 2024.

To facilitate this process, the FBR has extended the deadline for biometric re-verification for sales tax registered individuals, including members of associations of persons (AOPs) and single-member companies.

According to Sales Tax Circular No. 2 of 2024 issued by the FBR on Tuesday, as per the proviso to sub-rule (4) of rule 5 of the Sales Tax Rules, 2006, all individuals, members of associations of persons, and directors of companies with only one shareholder or member must visit NADRA’s e-Sahulat Centre every July for biometric re-verification.

In accordance with section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the FBR has decided to extend the deadline for this biometric re-verification to August 31, 2024.
