The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) is launching a major initiative under the Prime Minister’s Initiative to Support IT Startups, Specialized IT Training, and Venture Capital, with a goal to train 20,000 students. This program is designed to equip university students and recent graduates with cutting-edge IT skills to address the increasing demand for a skilled workforce in Pakistan’s growing technology sector.
The training will cover specialized fields such as MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js), Web Engineering, Cloud Architecture, Software Quality Assurance (SQA), and Mobile App Development. These areas were chosen to align with current industry needs, ensuring that participants acquire relevant skills to enhance their job prospects.
PSEB is in the process of selecting a company to deliver this training. The selected company will conduct sessions in a mixed-mode format: 70% in physical classrooms and 30% in a hybrid mode that combines online and offline elements. The training will be held at various universities and IT training centers in major cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Quetta.

The program targets students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th semesters of IT-related bachelor’s degree programs, as well as recent graduates who have completed their studies within the last year. This ensures participants are at a stage where they can immediately apply their newly acquired skills.
Eligible applicants for this project include IT training companies, IT firms, software houses, and industry associations. These organizations can apply individually or as part of a consortium. Applicants must demonstrate their ability to deploy industry professionals, such as system architects, software developers, and cloud solution designers, to deliver high-quality training.
Universities and IT industry partners will provide the necessary facilities for the training. PSEB will ensure these facilities meet the required standards and reserves the right to reject any deemed unsuitable. The safety and well-being of all trainees and staff, with particular attention to female participants, will be a priority.
This extensive training initiative aims to close the skills gap in Pakistan’s IT industry, making graduates more employable and addressing the needs of the rapidly expanding technology sector. By developing industry-ready professionals, the program supports PSEB’s mission to foster sustainable growth within the industry, contributing significantly to the country’s IT export growth and overall economic development.
