Pakistan clinched third place in the Asian Hockey Trophy by defeating Korea 5-2, showcasing a spirited performance led by Ammat Butt. Hannan Shahid and Sufian were instrumental in the victory, each scoring twice, while Roman added a fifth goal to secure the win. Despite Korea’s dominant first-half performance, which saw them take an early lead and pressure Pakistan heavily, the Green Shirts turned the tide after a shaky start. Goalkeeper Abdullah conceded an early goal, but Pakistan made a strong comeback, netting three goals in the third quarter to regain control.

While the victory was a significant achievement, Pakistan narrowly missed reaching the final. Their earlier match against China went into penalty shootouts, where Pakistan was defeated 2-0 after a 1-1 draw in regular time, with Ahmed Nadeem scoring for Pakistan. Unfortunately, Pakistan missed four penalties in the shootout, allowing China to advance to the final.
