A judicial magistrate in Karachi has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for social media influencer Sahil Adeem in a defamation case. Judicial Magistrate (South) Sher Muhammad issued the warrants following the submission of a final charge sheet by the investigating officer, Waqar Ahmed.

Sahil Adeem faces several charges, including Section 153 of the Pakistan Penal Code (which addresses promoting enmity between different groups), Section 505(1)(c) (incitement), Section 500 (defamation), and Section 512 of the Criminal Procedure Code (regarding evidence collection in the absence of the accused).

The case against Adeem was initiated after Advocate Abdul Fattah filed a complaint on July 12, alleging that Adeem made offensive remarks about the Sindhi community in one of his videos, mocking them and inciting discord between Sindhis and Punjabis.

Previously, Sahil Adeem had secured 15-day protective bail from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in July, against a bond of 20,000 rupees. The investigating officer informed the magistrate that despite the IHC’s directive to approach the appropriate court in Karachi, Adeem had not cooperated with the investigation or appeared in court.

Additionally, PPP legislator Marvi Sirmed submitted a resolution in the Sindh Assembly Secretariat against Adeem for reportedly making derogatory comments about women during a television discussion.
