New Zealand has secured a place in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final after a 50-run victory over South Africa in the semifinal at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
New Zealand Sets a Record Total
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, the Black Caps posted a record-breaking 362/6 in their 50 overs, the highest total in Champions Trophy history, surpassing Australia’s 356-run record.
Rachin Ravindra led the innings with a brilliant 108, while Kane Williamson provided stability with a 102-run knock.

South Africa’s Fightback Falls Short
Chasing 363, South Africa managed 312/9, despite a valiant century from David Miller.
Rassie van der Dussen (69) and Temba Bavuma (56) contributed with solid performances, but their efforts were not enough against New Zealand’s disciplined bowling attack.
New Zealand’s Bowling Performance
For New Zealand:
- Mitchell Santner starred with three wickets.
- Matt Henry and Glenn Phillips took two wickets each, effectively restricting South Africa’s scoring.
