MediaTek has officially launched its latest flagship processor, the Dimensity 9400+, designed to power the next generation of high-end Android smartphones. This new chipset builds on the success of last year’s Dimensity 9400, introducing performance upgrades and advanced AI capabilities.
The 9400+ features an All Big Core CPU design, headlined by a Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.73GHz, a slight boost from the 3.63GHz Cortex-X4 in the 9400. It also includes three Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores, delivering flagship-level multitasking and performance.
One of the key enhancements is the MediaTek NPU 890, which now supports Speculative Decoding+ (SpD+) for up to 20% faster agentic AI performance. This improved AI engine is expected to enhance everything from voice assistants to real-time translation and image processing.

The Dimensity 9400+ retains the powerful 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU, and MediaTek’s Imagiq 1090 ISP, supporting up to 320MP cameras and advanced photography features. It also offers support for LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 MCQ storage.
On the connectivity front, the chip provides support for Sub-6GHz 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and an extended GNSS suite (GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC). A notable upgrade is the Bluetooth range, now extended to 10km, a significant leap from the 1.5km range offered by the standard Dimensity 9400.
Availability and Upcoming Phones
The first smartphones to feature the Dimensity 9400+ will be the Oppo Find X8s and X8s+, launching this month in China, with global availability expected soon. Other flagships including the Vivo X200s and Realme GT7 are also rumored to feature the new chip in upcoming releases.
With enhanced AI capabilities and improved performance, the Dimensity 9400+ is set to compete head-to-head with other flagship mobile chipsets in 2025.
