The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has officially updated its policy for age modification requests on National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), making the process more streamlined and accessible.
Now, eligible applicants can submit requests not only by visiting NADRA offices but also through the Pak ID mobile app or at Pakistani embassies abroad, offering greater convenience for overseas Pakistanis.
Age Change Eligibility & Required Documents
The extent of permissible changes and the supporting documents vary as follows:
- First-Time Age Correction (Up to 5 Years)
➡️ Required: Pakistani Passport, Matriculation Certificate, Recent Mark Sheet, or Service Book. - Second-Time Age Correction (Up to 366 Days)
➡️ Required: Pakistani or Foreign Passport, Resident Permit, or Matric Certificate. - Birth Certificate-Based Age Correction (Up to 1 Year)
➡️ Required: Inland or Foreign Birth Certificate. - Sibling Age Difference Issue (Under 7 Months)
➡️ Allowed correction: Up to 1 year without supporting documents.
Revised Fee Structure for Age Modification
NADRA has introduced a tier-based fee system depending on the requested change:

NADRA’s Previous Clarification
It’s important to note that birth, death, and marriage registrations remain under the jurisdiction of provincial laws and are processed by Union Councils, as per NADRA’s earlier guidelines.
With these new rules in place, NADRA is simplifying identity corrections while ensuring documentation integrity for overseas Pakistanis.
