On the night of May 6–7, the Indian military carried out coordinated missile, air, and drone strikes across six Pakistani cities — Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad — targeting what it claimed were terrorist camps. The Pakistan government strongly rejected these claims, calling them “false pretexts” and highlighting its prior openness to international inspections and media visits.

The deadliest attack occurred in Bahawalpur’s Ahmedpur Sharqi, where 13 civilians, including two toddlers and seven women, were killed. In Kotli and Muzaffarabad, Indian strikes damaged two mosques — Bilal Mosque and Abbas Mosque — resulting in the deaths of teenagers and injuries to multiple children.

Along the Line of Control (LoC), Indian shelling killed five more civilians, including a five-year-old child, further escalating tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors.
