Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced major relief measures for farmers, including raising the Kissan Card loan limit from Rs. 150,000 to Rs. 300,000. Speaking at the Kala Shah Kaku Rice Research Institute, she noted that 85% of loans have been repaid, showing strong farmer engagement.
A 95% subsidy will be offered for solar-powered tube wells, and a new helpline and SMS service will make Kissan Card access easier. The government also plans to provide subsidized green tractors to 20,000 farmers and establish agricultural machinery rental centers in every tehsil.

Wheat farmers will receive direct subsidies of Rs. 5,000 per acre, and cotton output is expected to rise by up to 40% this year due to early sowing. Maryam Nawaz highlighted reduced inflation and lower prices for essential farming inputs, including fertilizers, seeds, and diesel.
She also distributed tractors and cash grants to farmers and emphasized modernizing agriculture through advanced machinery, including Chinese-made tractors.
