Vsisters Launches Women-Only Ride-Hailing App, but Faces Pricing Challenge Against InDrive
Vsisters has officially introduced a new ride-hailing app exclusively for women, aiming to offer a safer and more comfortable transportation option for female commuters in Pakistan. With safety concerns at the forefront, the app allows only female drivers and passengers, ensuring a secure travel environment rooted in mutual trust.
Currently operational in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, Vsisters positions itself as Pakistan’s first women-only ride-hailing platform, with ambitions to expand into more cities. The initiative has garnered attention for addressing a long-standing concern among female riders: personal safety during commutes.

How to Get Started
The Vsisters app is available for download on the Google Play Store. Its user interface functions similarly to popular ride-hailing platforms like Careem and InDrive. Riders can enter their destination, confirm the pickup location, and get connected with a verified female driver. Each driver must pass a thorough background check and complete mandatory safety training before being allowed to accept rides.
Ride Options and Pricing
Vsisters currently offers three types of ride options:
-
Bike: Ideal for solo travelers, costing around Rs. 650 for a 42-minute journey.
-
Regular: A standard car ride accommodating up to four passengers, priced at Rs. 1,193 for the same trip.
-
Luxury/AC Ride: The premium option, charging approximately Rs. 2,200 for a 42-minute route.
Comparing Vsisters with InDrive
While the Vsisters concept is commendable, a direct fare comparison with InDrive reveals a significant gap. InDrive’s Ride Mini category offers a similar trip at just Rs. 785—almost 35% cheaper than Vsisters’ Regular option. Motorcycle rides through InDrive cost around Rs. 347, and even their AC car rides come in well below Vsisters’ Luxury option.
Moreover, InDrive provides fare negotiation and a variety of ride categories, giving users greater flexibility and affordability—something that might appeal more to the price-sensitive Pakistani market.
Challenges for Vsisters
Despite its valuable focus on women’s empowerment and safety, Vsisters faces a tough challenge due to its premium fare structure. As many users are accustomed to the budget-friendly pricing of InDrive and similar services, Vsisters may struggle to capture a significant market share unless it addresses its pricing strategy.
While the app fills an important niche by prioritizing female security, competitive pricing will be essential for broader adoption in a market that places a high premium on affordability.
