Every July, Samsung unveils the latest versions of its foldable and flip smartphones. This year, the spotlight is on the SAMSUNG Galaxy Z Flip7 and Fold7. While rumors and leaks about these devices have circulated for months, recent reports have now clarified a key detail—the Galaxy Z Flip7 will debut with Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500 chipset.

Initially, the Exynos 2500 was expected to power the Galaxy S25 series. However, due to production yield issues, Samsung opted for Qualcomm chipsets for that lineup. Now that these issues have reportedly been resolved, the Exynos 2500 is ready to make its debut in Samsung’s upcoming foldable device.

The new report claims that most global markets will receive the Exynos-powered version of the Galaxy Z Flip7, while select regions like China and North America may still get devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 “Elite” chipset. This marks a historic moment for Samsung, as it will be the first time its foldable phones feature an Exynos processor—highlighting progress in Samsung’s chip development strategy.

The Exynos 2500 offers impressive specs. It includes a 10-core CPU layout: one high-performance Cortex-X925 core running at up to 3.3 GHz, two Cortex-A725 cores at up to 2.75 GHz, five more Cortex-A725 cores at up to 2.36 GHz, and two energy-efficient Cortex-A520 cores at up to 1.8 GHz. Graphics will be handled by the Xclipse 950 GPU, based on AMD’s RDNA 3.5 architecture, promising powerful visuals and efficient performance.

If confirmed, the Galaxy Z Flip7’s use of the Exynos 2500 would represent a major step toward reducing Samsung’s reliance on third-party chipmakers, while improving performance across global markets.
