As the month of Zilhaj approaches, the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Pakistan has announced the official meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to determine the sighting of the Zilhaj moon, which will ultimately decide the date of Eid-ul-Adha 2025 in the country.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene on Monday, May 27 (29th of Zilqad) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Kohsar Block, Islamabad.
The meeting will be presided over by the Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
At the same time, Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will hold their respective meetings at provincial headquarters across the country.
The purpose of these meetings is to collect evidence of moon sighting from different regions and make a unified decision regarding the beginning of Zilhaj.

Possible Dates for Eid-ul-Adha
If the Zilhaj moon is sighted on May 27, Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Thursday, June 6.
If the moon is not sighted on May 27, the first of Zilhaj will begin on May 29, and Eid-ul-Adha will fall on Friday, June 7.

Prominent astronomers in Pakistan have predicted that the Zilhaj moon is more likely to be visible on the evening of Tuesday, May 28. Based on this scientific forecast, they expect Eid-ul-Adha to be observed nationwide on Friday, June 7.
