The Punjab government has announced a one-day delay in the commencement of summer Break in public schools to allow full participation in Youm-e-Takbeer celebrations. According to an official notification issued on May 27, 2025, schools across the province will now remain open on May 28 instead of beginning holidays on that date.

This decision has been made to commemorate Pakistan’s historic achievement of becoming a nuclear power. The School Education Department has instructed all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities (DEAs) to conduct special events on May 28 in honor of the occasion.

Activities will begin with a special morning assembly including the national anthem, prayers, and tributes to the Pakistan Army. District-level competitions will also be held in public schools, which include:

  • Speech contests on the importance of Youm-e-Takbeer and Pakistan’s nuclear journey

  • Art and poster creation competitions

  • National song (Milli Naghmay) performances

Winners of these competitions will receive prizes worth Rs. 50,000. The department has encouraged schools to participate actively and foster messages of peace, patriotism, and technological advancement.

Following the observance of Youm-e-Takbeer, summer vacations will officially commence from May 29.
