In a remarkable act of civic responsibility, a father voluntarily returned his son, Ali Raza, to Malir Jail on Thursday after he escaped during a recent jailbreak. Ali Raza was one of several inmates who fled the prison during the chaotic incident.
Jail authorities confirmed the father’s action, quoting him as saying, “I am a law-abiding citizen, and that is why I brought my son back.” Ali Raza shared with investigators that a group of inmates had coordinated the jailbreak, breaking the locks of multiple barracks, including his own.
According to investigators, the escape began from the juvenile barracks and quickly spread as prisoners unlocked other sections. At the time of the breakout, only two guards were overseeing 12 barracks, which made it impossible to contain the situation.

Authorities stated that inmates who have returned so far have not reported any mistreatment or abuse. The investigation into the jailbreak remains active.
This follows another similar case, where a mother brought back her escaped son, pleading for mercy while stating, “My son made a mistake, but I brought him back myself. Please don’t harm him.”
Both acts of parental accountability have gained attention for their emotional intensity and demonstration of public responsibility, even as inquiries into the prison break continue.
