Northern Pakistan is reeling from the aftermath of deadly monsoon rains, cloudbursts, and flash floods that have triggered widespread landslides and devastation across the region. With the death toll surpassing 250, rescue operations are in full swing, and many people remain missing.

The worst-hit areas include Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), where the relentless rains have destroyed homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Authorities are racing against time to conduct search and rescue efforts, while emergency relief operations continue to provide aid to the affected communities.

Amid the humanitarian crisis, global leaders have extended their condolences and expressed solidarity with Pakistan. United States Chargé d’Affaires to Pakistan, Natalie Baker, conveyed her heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and assured that she and her team stand firmly with the Pakistani people during this difficult time.

Similarly, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott shared her sorrow over the tragic loss of life and the widespread destruction. She offered her sympathy to those impacted and reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to supporting the victims.

As Pakistan grapples with one of the deadliest natural disasters in recent years, the focus remains on saving lives and rebuilding communities left shattered by the catastrophic weather.
