The Finance Division has announced a major reduction in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD), lowering it by Rs. 12.84 per litre for the upcoming fortnight. The new pricing will be effective from August 16, 2025.

According to the official notification, the new price of HSD is set at Rs. 272.99 per litre, while petrol will remain unchanged at Rs. 264.61 per litre.

In addition to the diesel price cut, the government has also reduced the prices of other petroleum products:

  • Superior kerosene oil: Down by Rs. 7.19 per litre
  • Light diesel oil: Reduced by Rs. 8.20 per litre

This move comes as part of the government’s fortnightly price review aimed at providing relief to consumers amid fluctuating global oil prices.
